Title: Analyst Material Planning

Position Summary
The Analyst, Material Planning reports to the Manager of Materials Planning & Purchasing. The position is responsible for mining data both structured and unstructured, to extract actionable knowledge using statistical analyses and other quantitative methods that measures and monitors the performance of the Inventory Optimizer processes. The objective is to interpret complex information to assist Material Planning and Req Coordination with decision making, policy formulation, driving process changes, track and improve, and to ensure best operational practices to accurately determine best fit strategic forecasting based on JetBlue’s Maintenance Programs and Fleet Growth.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create, analyze and reconcile reports on the planning, purchases, repairs, movements or demand of JetBlue materials across the network.
- Establish internal and external reports measuring Material Planning/ \Coordination processes.
- Continuously improve a system of scorecards to track internal JetBlue processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and help identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
- Identify new KPIs and ways to measure them to gauge the health of JetBlue’s material operations.
- Produces innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
- Assists in defining data requirements as well as gathers and validates information, applying judgment and statistical tests to ensure data integrity.
- Acquires business knowledge in depth as well as gathers and analyzes complex information about all components in the process, using a variety of sources.
- Works with business customers to develop technological solutions.
- Applies knowledge of statistics, computer programming, mathematical modeling, simulation, and advanced quantitative methods to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to problem solving, decision support, and process changes.
- Performs mathematical model validation and testing to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.
- Uses a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from complex data.
- Prepare cost summaries of historical spend.
- Report regularly to Manager (direct report) regarding opportunities and future initiatives for Technical Procurement Team.
- Assist Corporate Audit, Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Material Operations in evaluating irregularities and cost saving initiatives.
- Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to prepare future budgets and ensure budget compliance.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of analytical and modeling experience
- One (1) year of airline experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen and presentation skills; track record of capturing value and savings
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong financial, quantitative and data analysis skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project communications and stakeholder expectations
- Demonstrated experience presenting results of work to an organization’s executive leadership levels
- Available for occasional overnight travel (less than 20%)
- Able to effectively influence others at equal and higher levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering
- Five (5) years of experience in material planning, engineering or equivalent experience
- Three (5) years of prior airline industry experience
- Proficiency in reporting using JetBlue’s Maintenance & Engineering system (TRAX)
- Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement training and certification
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet modeling and database administration, including applications beyond Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated experience presenting to an organization’s executive leadership levels, including results

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $62,400.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
