Analyst, Pricing Inventory and Merchandising (JetBlue Travel Products) 


Position Summary 

The Pricing Analyst, Inventory and Merchandising JetBlue Travel Products (JTP) is responsible for maximizing JetBlue Vacations revenue by partnering with the JTP Commercial team in support of its affiliated products. The individual will proactively assess, monitor and determine performance and markup strategy of packages and ancillaries specific to JetBlue Vacations, Friends & Family Deals and other JTP products. The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for identifying revenue and growth opportunities between JTP products and opaque flight inventory. The ideal candidate will work closely with JetBlue Revenue Management and the JTP Commercial team crewmembers to help collaborate on creative and effective performance and markup management. 


Essential Responsibilities 

  • Learn and test implementations of revenue management theory and own revenue management strategy to improve current business processes to enhance system-wide revenue performance. 

  • Design and execute controlled fare tests to study customer price elasticity of demand. 

  • Query and analyze customer data to gain market knowledge and leverage that knowledge to inform future markup decisions, sharing data with JTP team. 

  • Strategically analyze competitive flight and/or hotel fare pricing in conjunction with Vacations packages. 

  • Effectively communicate revenue performance and competitive market dynamics to fellow crewmembers, leadership and JTP team. 

  • Provide cross-functional support and strategy to other teams including Sales, Network Planning, Loyalty, JTP and Marketing. 

  • Provide useful insights to the Marketing team to help shape customer-facing initiatives and enable the use of markups as a marketing tactic, specifically assisting in strategy behind promotions and sales. 

  • Perform data analysis on Vacations products markets, web performance and competitiveness to inform partnership and merchandising decisions. 

  • Guide cross-functional day-to-day team meetings (or monthly reviews) with data and strategy opportunities to assist in improved business decisions and Vacations growth plan. 

  • Other complex projects and duties as assigned. 


Minimum Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related field. 

  • One (1) year of analytical quantitative experience. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as quantitative critical thinking skills. 

  • Demonstrate analytical reasoning with the ability to tackle complex problems.  

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word. 

  • Knowledge of Google suite products. 

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and under pressure. 

  • Ability for occasional overnight travel (10%) 

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test. 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located. 


Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related field. 

  • One (1) year of Revenue Management experience. 

  • Two (2) years of analytical quantitative experience. 

  • A proven interest in airlines, aviation or transportation systems in schooling or prior work experience. 

  • Proficiency in SQL and other database tools. 


Crewmember Expectations  

  • Regular attendance and punctuality. 

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice. 

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft. 

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
