Engineer, Product UX (JetBlue Travel Products) 

 

Position Summary 

The JetBlue Travel Products Engineer, Product  reports directly to the Manager, Product Engineering and is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and improving technology products to support the evolution of travel products. 

 

The Engineer, Product can change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, is motivated to deliver results, and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun, and Passion. 

 

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Developing the latest user-facing features using React.js, and maintain existing React.js applications. 

  • Maintain existing Angular codebase while migrating to a new framework. 

  • Knowledge of ReactJS and common tools used in the wider ReactJS ecosystem, such as NextJS, Redux, IDEs RESTful APIs, Git Repositories, TypeScript, and remote deployment tools. 

  • Maintain and update project dependencies as well as fix any conflicts. 

  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code, and develop and manage technology products from conception to retirement. 

  • Ensure that the product engineering team delivers with consistency, high quality and predictability. 

  • Automate tests and deployment procedures to minimize downtime and disruption. 

  • Create and promote a work environment focused on engineering excellence to attract, develop and encourage a culture of technical innovation. 

  • Participate in the DevOps practice as it pertains to product engineering. 

  • Help establish frameworks, design and integration patterns as well as guide the software development performed by engineering team. 

  • Help manage a collection of external technology products used to deliver business products. 

  • Other complex projects and duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.  

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in an engineering role. 

  • Good understanding of software engineering environments and standards. 

  • Deep understanding of Internet technologies, protocols and methodologies for delivering web-based products. 

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check.  

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located. 

  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. 
     

Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Five (5) years’ experience in technology roles. 

  • Coordinating with various teams working on distinct layers. 

  • Maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization. 

 

Crewmember Expectations 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.  

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.  

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance. 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.

Physical Effort:
