Title: Associate Head, Technology Architecture (Paisly)

Position Summary:
The Paisly Associate Head, Technology Architecture reports directly to the Senior Head of Technology and is responsible for leading a team of technology architects in developing the architectural framework and infrastructure to support the evolution of Paisly’s travel products.
The Associate Head of Technology Architecture oversees architectural vision and contributes to the execution of the broader technology strategy, driving innovation and positioning Paisly as a digital disruptor in the travel industry. This role collaborates heavily with matrix partners, clients and external business partners. This leader demonstrates the ability to align teams with strategic objectives, thrives in complex and fast-paced environments and is motivated to deliver results.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the Technology Architecture practice, ensuring that the team delivers with consistency, high quality and predictability.
- Establish the standards, methodologies and governance for architecture across the entire tech organization.
- Design and present comprehensive solution architectures, creating proofs-of-concept (PoCs) and integration strategies for external clients and business to business (B2B) partners.
- Act as a lead technical authority for pre-sales and customer engagements to define technical scope and estimate proposed deliverables in a complex, multi-partner ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot complex architectural bottlenecks, production incidents and system performance issues to guarantee the practical, real-world viability of designs.
- Drive the architectural roadmap for modern, global payment ecosystems (e.g., Real-Time Payments, Digital Wallets, API-driven fintech); engineering end-to-end solutions that synthesize complex partner requirements with rigorous adherence to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and Payment Services Directive 2/Strong Customer Authentication (PSD2/SCA), System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC2), International Organization for Standardization (ISO 27001) standards to ensure scalable, secure and compliant transaction flows across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide architectural guidance and interpret/implement business logic in efficient algorithms.
- Create and promote a work environment focused on engineering excellence to attract, develop and encourage a culture of technical innovation.
- Partner with Product Management, Account and Engineering teams to develop the product vision and roadmap.
- Other complex projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience.
- Seven (7) years’ experience in an engineering and/or architecture role.
- Deep understanding of software engineering environments and standards.
- Deep understanding of internet technologies, protocols and methodologies for delivering web-based products.
- Experience managing Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) Interacting daily with people at different levels within the organization, including developing and maintaining ongoing relationships.
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years’ experience in senior technology roles, with three (3) years of specialized technical expertise in the travel industry.
- Maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization.
- Experience in writing software in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go and/or JavaScript.
- Experience architecting, developing software, or internet scale production-grade Big Data solutions in virtualized environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
