Position Title: Senior Analyst Strategy & Business Development (Strategic Operations)

 

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst of Strategy & Business development supports JetBlue in identifying, evaluating, and driving strategic initiatives for JetBlue. The Senior Analyst supports the Manager of Strategy & Business development and Senior Leadership in leading and supporting strategic projects across the organization to position the Company for the next phase of its evolution. The Senior Analyst works cross-functionally to explore long-term risks and opportunities for JetBlue. The Senior Analyst works in a project-oriented environment and engages in complex, broad analyses.

 

Essential Responsibilities

· Collaborate cross-functionally and across all levels of the organization to develop strategy for and drive the execution of high-priority strategic initiatives at JetBlue

· Work with management to identify business opportunities to drive the company’s long-term vision

· Manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously across all phases of the project lifecycle, from ideation to execution

· Drive resolution of complex business issues by framing problems strategically, conducting quantitative and qualitative research, and analyzing data and financials

· Develop recommendations and materials to drive executive-level decision making, and facilitate socialization of these strategies with leaders

· Ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Aviation or related field

· Two years (2) experience in management consulting or strategy related role

· Demonstrate ability to analyze strategic issues, and communicate results through a work sample

· A highly analytical critical thinker with experience applying strategic frameworks and analytics to develop insights and recommendations on complex and ambiguous business challenges

· Ability to navigate both macro and micro perspectives on issues and to quickly grasp diverse subject matter

· Experience managing multiple projects and diverse, cross-functional project teams simultaneously, with a track record of successfully driving projects and tasks to completion

· Experience in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience presenting to senior executives

· High proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

· Able to work flexible hours and be available for an emergency response on short notice

· Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

· Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

· Previous experience in airline, travel, hospitality or transportation industry

· Advanced skills preparing financial models and management dashboards in Excel; including ability to conduct ROIC and NPV analyses

· Project management, program management, and organizational skills

· Regular attendance and punctuality

· Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

· Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

· When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

· Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

· Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
