Title:  Senior Accountant Property Accounting

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Manager, Property Accounting.  Responsibilities include support for all aspects of Property Accounting, including fuel accounting, impairment analysis, investment accounting and bank reconciliations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Interface with independent auditors and business partners
  • Network with other departments to obtain needed information and educate other departments on financial relevance of their transactions
  • Responsible for weekly fuel accounting and audits, monthly investments reconciliations, quarterly and annual impairment analysis, quarterly commitments schedules, and variance analysis of Balance Sheet accounts and related Profit and Loss accounts
  • Assists in the preparation of property related footnote and MD&A disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Researches items of technical nature to determine proper accounting treatment and presentation
  • Ensures internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks
  • Supervision of staff may be required at times
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed with minimal supervision
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Three (3) years of accounting experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA eligible
  • SAP experience
  • One (1) year of experience supervising others
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
