Position Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Business data network -network security and/or voice relationship for JetBlue with a focus on Operations, Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics, contract adherence and future technologies. The Network Engineer implements and reviews data network and network security and/or voice policies and ensures cohesion between all business units, IT Security and/or Telecom and Business Partners. This position will work closely with the Senior Network Engineers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using automation scripting
  • Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting for resolving network and cloud related crew member issues
  • Work with the network Business Partner to ensure JetBlue IT Security policies are implemented
  • Oversee the JetBlue network Business Partner relationship from a data network and network security perspective
  • Attend weekly meetings with network Business Partners (Change Control, Quality, SLA, budget, capacity planning, MAC etc.) and provide detailed reporting to IT Leadership
  • Configure and setup Citrix NetScaler application delivery controllers
  • Monitor and test Cisco wireless networking solutions for performance and uptime and provide statistical network performance reports
  • Responsible for network Business Partner contract service amendments pertaining to data network & network security orders, etc.
  • Coordinate new location activations and location decommissions with the network Business Partner
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure for optimal performance
  • Oversee change control process and procedures for data network and network security
  • Create and maintain cloud infrastructure and security documentation and procedures
  • Implement and configure Voice technologies
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalent education 
  • Three (3) years’ related work experience
  • Configuration experience with SIP Phones
  • Three (3) years’ knowledge of AWS and/or Azure Primary Services (VPC, VPN, VNETS, etc.)
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

      Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • AWS and/or Azure Certifications
  • Associate degree and/or demonstrated capability through three (3) years of previous experience in Cloud Network and/or IT security, and/or education
  • One (1) year experience with Cisco IOS routers, switches
  • One (1) year experience and knowledge of Cisco Wireless network
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Firewalls (ASAs and Palo Alto preferred)
  • Virtualized network (NSX preferred)
  • Strong Experience in Citrix NetScaler
  • Voice/VOIP Tech
  • Knowledge with various LAN/WAN and WWAN technologies (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, Cloud ISPs)

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $90,500.00 and $128,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
