Position Summary

The Manager Learning Analytics provides support to JetBlue University (JBU) in measuring and understanding the impact of learning activities to make improvements and drive efficiencies while helping preserve our unique culture. The Manager leads the Learning Analytics team that helps turn data into action both within JBU and corporate-wide. In addition, the Learning Analytics team conducts needs assessments and makes recommendations for solutions.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear strategic direction for the Learning Analytics team including team’s goals and objectives and develops a shared vision among the Learning Analytics team
  • Oversee and participate in identifying and implementing data collection and measurement strategies to ensure continuous improvement across all components of JBU curricula and learning delivery methods
  • Act as the subject matter expert on internal and external data sources, ensure accuracy of reported data, and as needed, revise flow of processes for continued optimization of data collection and reporting
  • Provide insights using Tableau and other data visualization tools to provide insights to organizational leadership and help guide business decisions
  • Partner with other JBU departments to identify ways to use data to increase efficiency in both learning and operations
  • Lead the team and participate in conducting needs assessments by assembling and leading focus groups and other research methodologies to identify individual and organizational training and performance support needs
  • Partner with other JBU teams to lead regulatory data collection and reporting efforts in support of Advanced Qualification Programs
  • Partner with business units and other analytics teams to gain an understanding of business measures and identifies areas where additional performance support is needed
  • Support the advancement of JBU’s learning analytics by staying abreast of new and developing trends in training, adult learning, and program evaluation and applies them to initiatives
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Five (5) years of data analytics experience
  • Experience in applied statistical analysis and use of statistical software
  • Experience using relational databases and experience coding in computer languages such as R
  • Experience with Training/Learning Management Systems such as SAP Success Factors and MINT Training Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and consult with internal customers and colleagues to drive business results
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with training metrics, databases, and evaluation methodologies
  • Experience researching, analyzing and synthesizing information/data into recommendations and presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in program evaluation, industrial/organizational psychology, data analytics, statistics, Instructional Design, or relevant field
  • Three (3) years’ leadership experience

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
